HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Breckin Meyer, Lacey Chabert, Anne Archer, Amanda Walsh and Emma Stone have been added to the cast of “The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past,” a romantic comedy starring Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Garner.
In the film, McConaughey stars as Connor, a womanizer who attends the wedding of his younger brother(Meyer) and his bride (Chabert). At the ceremony, he is haunted by many of his old flames, including the bride’s best friend, played by Garner.
Archer will play the mother of the bride, who is another potential Connor conquest, and Walsh plays the only bridesmaid that the romancer hasn’t conquered. Stone will play the supernatural “Ghost of Girlfriends Past” who guides Connor through his dating history in a take-off on Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.”
The film, written by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, will be directed by Mark Waters (“Freaky Friday,” “Mean Girls”).
Filming is slated to begin Feb. 19 in Boston.
Ben Affleck was originally pegged to star in the film, however Disney pulled the plug on the project in October 2003.
