HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Former “Will & Grace” star Debra Messing has been added to the cast of the Latino family drama “Humboldt Park.”
The 39-year-old actress, who recently earned a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for the miniseries “The Starter Wife,” will co-star with John Leguizamo.
In the film, which will be directed by Alfredo De Villa, Messing will play the wife of Leguizamo’s character, who joins him on a trip to his parents’ home. Previously announced cast members include Freddy Rodriguez, Alfred Molina, Jay Hernandez, Mercedes Ruehl, Luis Guzman, Melonie Diaz and Vanessa Ferlito.
“Humboldt Park,” which was written by Rick Najera, Ted Perkins and Alison Swan, is slated to begin shooting on Feb. 13 in Chicago.
Messing will be appearing in a USA Network series version of “The Starter Wife” this summer. She also recently wrapped shooting on “The Women,” which will hit theaters in the fall. The film co-stars Eva Mendes, Meg Ryan, Carrie Fisher, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Bette Midler and Annette Bening.
