NEW YORK — A historic pop culture moment was relived Friday as the infamous Joaquin Phoenix appearance on the “Late Show with David Letterman” was replayed.
Phoenix, who previously announced his plans to leave acting behind in order to pursue a rap career, was less than forthcoming throughout the interview. His bizarre behavior at one point included putting his gum under Letterman’s desk.
Letterman was in tip-top form, however, asking at one point: “What can you tell us about your days with the Unabomber?”
Phoenix was appearing in support of his apparent acting swan song, the movie”Two Lovers,” in which he stars alongside Gwyneth Paltrow.
