Phillies Fan Tasered Video
PHILADELPHIA — A Philadelphia Phillies fan was Tasered by a cop after running onto the field during Monday night’s game against the St. Louis Cardinals.
The incident took place in the bottom of the eighth inning at Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park. It began when the teenage fan, identified as Steve Consalvi, hopped over the ballpark’s fence and eluded security as he ran around the outfield. He was eventually caught and subdued by an officer using a Taser.
Consalvi reportedly called his father for permission to run onto the field.
"He said, ‘Dad, can I run on the field?’ I said, ‘I don’t think you should, son,’" Wayne Consalvi told the Philadelphia Inquirer of the conversation he had with his son.
The boy’s father told the paper that his son is "a real good student, heading to Penn State."
The Phillies and Philadelphia police are investigating whether the use of a Taser was an appropriate use of force.
