HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Randy Quaid dead rumors hit the Web on Tuesday, but the 59-year-old actor is alive and well, American Superstar confirms.
The dead hoax comes less than a week after Quaid and his wife, Evi, finally posted bond for felony charges of burglary, defrauding an innkeeper and conspiracy. The couple had previously skipped out on four court appearances after being arrested in September for allegedly skipping out on a $10,000 hotel bill they rang up during a summer stay at the San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, Calif.
Bail for the Quaids was set at $20,000 each, with their arraignment scheduled for Dec. 15.
An arrest warrant was previously issued for the couple, who were were facing extradition from Texas to California.
Quaid is perhaps best known for his roles in National Lampoon’s Vacation movies, in which he starred as Cousin Eddie.
