Make room on your mantle, George!
The nominations for the British Fashion Council’s 2014 Style Awards were announced on Wednesday, Oct. 29, and Amal Alamuddin came in at the top of the list!

Although the London-based barrister, 36, has long been admired for her chic business attire, Alamuddin really stepped up her style game this year for her Venetian wedding to George Clooney on Sept. 27, to which she wore a stunning lace dress by the late Oscar de la Renta.
But even beyond that glam moment, Mrs. Clooney spent 2014 wowing around the globe—from London to Italy, to Greece—in an endless supply of gorgeous ensembles, including pieces by Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, Dolce & Gabbana, and Giambattista Valli (above).

Of course, she isn’t the only lovely lady to make the list! Emma Watson, Keira Knightley, Cara Delevingne, and Helen Mirren are all up for the award, which honors the “individual who most embodies the spirit of British fashion and is an international ambassador for London as a leading creative fashion capital.”
One style princess who surprisingly didn’t make the cut: Kate Middleton. Although, to be fair, the Duchess, who’s always impeccably dressed, received a nomination in 2013.

Rounding out the list, however, are some of our favorite British men! David Beckham, Douglas Booth, and the ever-dashing Benedict Cumberbatch are three of the 20 nominees—and you can help choose the winner.
