Blake Lively‘s maternity style proved she’s the very definition of a red carpet goddess. After all, she wore body-hugging maternity dresses throughout her pregnancy, glowing like it was nobody’s business. But that doesn’t mean we don’t appreciate a simple, laid-back look on Blake. Her latest ensemble, a casual Jil Sander button-down with rolled-up sleeves, paired with nothing more than her gorgeous engagement ring, is a prime example.
The star posed for Allure‘s May cover shoot and divulged the secret to her elegant pregnancy announcement: loose clothing – at least until she was ready for the big reveal.
“‘I can’t be someone like Beyoncé and be like-‘ She mimes throwing open a jacket and showing off her belly, a reference to Beyoncé’s onstage announcement of her pregnancy at the VMAs in 2011. ‘But it was important for us. It was a struggle, because we want to keep our privacy, but we also don’t want our lives to be exploited by other people,'” Allure wrote.
