Anna Kendrick is used to hitting the red carpet in gorgeous gowns. But the Pitch Perfect 2 star decided to switch things up at the Grammys, wearing an edgy, risky black suit, sans shirt underneath. And she may be having a little post-show regret, because she was very candid on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Tuesday about how the bold look worked (or didn’t!) for her.

“I thought I had it all figured out with the pantsuit there,” she told the host of her sexy black Band of Outsiders look. “I was never going to wear a dress again — I was loving it. Then I had to sit very very straight. I had a little tape, but you know, I was still nervous about it. By the time I got home, my back was killing me.”

When DeGeneres asked if the risk that her jacket could pop open was really that great, Kendrick she did worry about what would happen if she “accidentally” flashed Ariana Grande. “She seems easily scandalized.”
She also joked that she felt a bit awkward standing backstage, greeting Grammy winners like Sam Smith after he accepted his award. “You come backstage and it’s Anna Kendrick in a slutty pantsuit, doesn’t know where to tell you where to go.”
