Emmys 2014: Claire! January! Kaley! Red Dresses Rule the Carpet

The biggest trend at the 2014 Emmys may have had you seeing red. Literally, we mean. At least 13 stars stepped out in the traffic-stopping hue — check out seven of our favorites, below.

Nominee Claire Danes (far left) arrived in a gorgeous Givenchy number, greeting Gustavo Cadile-clad Giuliana Rancic with a “Hi, fellow lady in red!” Upon learning that they were two of many, Danes mused, “I’m glad to be part of the red posse.”

And who can blame her? She was in good company! She joined January Jones in Prabal Gurung, Christina Hendricks in Marchesa and a Monique Lhuillier-clad Kaley Cuoco Sweeting (above), as well as Octavia Spencer (in Tadashi Shoji), Heidi Klum (in custom Zac Posen) and best actress winner Julia Louis-Dreyfus in a custom Carolina Herrera gown (below).

Though we were surprised to see so many scarlet gowns hit the red carpet, we loved how each star put her own spin on the shade, from matching her lipstick to it à la Jones to choosing a super-girlie take on the bold hue (like Cuoco did). And we can’t deny that they deserved every ounce of attention they got in their ravishing red numbers.

Are you a fan of the red regime? What other big trends were you loving Monday night? Leave a comment with your take on the trend.
