Ouch — dissing an American classic!
Eva Mendes has directed her ire with comfortable fashion from sweats to jeans. The actress and New York & Company fashion designer, 41, pretty much relegated lovingly worn-in denim to a laundry-day outfit.

“I love a soft pant, so I make sure they’re included in every collection,” mom to daughter Esmeralda Amada Gosling, told fashion website Who What Wear. “But if you see me in jeans it’s probably because all my skirts are at the dry cleaners or just dirty.”
How on earth could a person have such disdain for go-with-everything pants? “I mean, I think jeans are really uncomfortable actually — aren’t they?” Ryan Gosling‘s love explained. “They’re so restrictive!”

But if she had no choice in the matter, there is a particular style that she’d opt for. “I always prefer a boyfriend jean, but I found those to be restrictive, too!” Mendes said.
So what would the Hitch actress wear while lounging around? “It’s not unrealistic to see me in an outfit like this at home [pointing to her skirt], just without the belt and the shoes,” she said. “I’d wear this with a loose tee or a tank top.”
Mendes’ latest fashion revelation follows last week’s jarring remarks to Extra that wearing sweatpants was the “number one cause of divorce in America.” She later Instagrammed a gray pair to prove she was just joking.

“Dear favorite sweatpants, I was just kidding when I said you’re the #1 cause of divorce. Everyone knows that orange crocs are the #1 cause of divorce in America. Either way it was a bad joke and [I] feel terrible if you or anyone though I was serious. Thanks for understanding sweatpants. Sorry orange crocs,” she captioned a photo.
Gosling also hopped on Twitter to defend the Lost River actress. “Obviously sweatpants thing was a joke. Wearing them now. That’s right, tweeting in sweatpants. Rats! Said too much! You win again Twitter,” Gosling, 34, responded on March 19.
