Love It: Jessica Chastain’s Pretty Black Number: Jessica is one of those stunning stars who looks amazing in everything — but she seems to take fashion a little seriously. That’s why I loved that she picked this sweet black Elie Saab dress with delicate beading and embroidery. It was flirty, playful and, with those barely-there Jimmy Choos and rich red lip, more than a little sexy. –Alex Apatoff, Senior Style Editor

Love It: Emmy Rossum’s Gorgeous Gray Leather Dress: Colleagues, you may notice there is now a collection jar in my office with Emmy’s photo on it. I am taking donations large and small in hopes of stowing away enough money (a girl can dream) for the second her buttery gray dress, a part of J. Mendel’s Pre-Fall 2015 collection, hits stores. Thanks to the paneling, the fit — and flare — of this structured number feels ultra cool and modern. And while I can’t also snag the Shameless star’s vintage Ralph Lauren clutch, I can and will copy her very pretty matchy-matchy burgundy lip and nails. –Jackie Fields, Beauty Writer

Leave It: Jemima Kirke’s Black Satin Gown: My first thought seeing Jemima Kirke’s look at the Girls premiere in N.Y.C. was that she must have had an accident getting out of her car — that’s one extreme, ill positioned, slit. I don’t think the flowy top works with such a hip-hugging (or maybe the more appropriate word is hip-squeezing) skirt. And with such a baggy fitting top, her messy updo looks less wavy/romantic and just plain, well, messy. Another beauty detail she should have considered? Matching her lip shade to her clutch — with such a drab dress, a lively stain would have really brightened her face. –Colleen Kratofil, Assistant Producer
