We’re no strangers to seeing some of our favorite rock stars and actors fronting fashion and beauty advertising campaigns. But lately, it seems like some of our favorite supermodels are turning the tables, stepping into their own new roles by designing clothing, acting and yes, even playing rock star for a day. This week, supermodels Gisele Bündchen and Miranda Kerr released a single that proved they have talents besides standing still and looking pretty.

But Bündchen and Kerr are just the latest in a long list of supermodels who have decided to step into the recording studio, trying their luck behind the mic instead of in front of the camera. Check out the two latest attempts below, then walk down memory lane with a list of even more “hit singles” from their fellow supermodels.
Gisele Bündchen for H&M: The supermodel covered the ’80s Blondie classic “Heart of Glass” for the retailer’s 2014 summer campaign — and the video is full of sultry shots of Bündchen singing and modeling the new collection. (And what music video isn’t complete without a stampede of horses running along the beach?)
Miranda Kerr and Bobby Fox: Believe it or not, this isn’t the model’s first time singing. In 2012, she sang a tune for a Japanese ice tea commercial (which you can see here). Her newest venture, however, is a duet with the Irish singer Bobby Fox on Elvis Presley’s hit “You’re The Boss.”
Tyra Banks in Life-Size: Tyra always goes big — like when she tried to launch her singing and acting career at the same time. You may remember Life-Size, in which she played a doll that comes to life when a little girl named Casey (costar Lindsay Lohan, who makes a dancing cameo at the end) tries to bring back her mother. Banks sings her character’s theme song during a work function and gets the whole crowd dancing — and you know we are totally singing along. “Shine bright, shine far! Be a staaaaar!”
Carla Bruni’s “Quelqu’un m’a dit”: France’s former first lady started her career as a model before moving into music (and eventually politics). She posed for multiple Guess Jeans campaigns and also worked with many fashion houses including Christian Dior, Givenchy and Yves Saint Laurent. In 1997, she quit the modeling profession and focused on her music full-time — one of the few models on this list who could make that big jump.
Victoria’s Secret Angels Sing “Deck the Halls:” The video starts out with supermodels Candice Swanepoel, Miranda Kerr, Doutzen Kroes, Alessandra Ambrosio, Lily Aldridge, Lindsay Ellingson and Erin Heatherton singing the Christmas classic, but we soon come to realize that the beauties may not be as familiar with the lyrics as most of us.
Other honorable mentions you probably shouldn’t miss:
Heidi Klum and Seal at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show
Karen Elson’s “Pretty Babies”
Coco Rocha for Cavalli
Babyshambles feat. Kate Moss
Tyra Banks’s “Shake Ya Body”
Do you think these supermodels have potential singing careers? Or should they stick to posing in front of the camera? Let us know in the comments below!
