Kim Kardashian looked totally in control on the red carpet, but moments before she stepped out of her car she actually was making last minute alterations to her plunging, sequin Jean Paul Gaultier gown (which had editors embroiled in a heated debate).

“Basically, my pocket fell off — the whole pocket fell off,” she said on a Grammy afterparty show, adding, “When I sat it ripped and we were sewing and safey-pinning.”
And for all of you who wore wondering, yes, that gown is extremely heavy. “It’s probably 100 pounds,” she added.
Kim also shared that her husband Kanye West (who considers his wife a “style girl”) was her personal stylist for the event. “He saw this online at a couture show and sent me the picture and said, ‘Babe do you like this dress?’. He called the designer, gets it and it’s sitting my dressing room. I’m the luckiest woman alive.”

Kim finished her look with dazzling Lorraine Schwartz jewels. For his part, Kanye (who was once again upset that Beyoncé didn’t win) wore a Balmain blazer and Greg Lauren pants.
