It wouldn’t be the Grammys without some showstopping wardrobe changes. Jessie J promised six, Miranda Lambert managed three and Katy Perry might have raided Solange’s closet — and by the end of the night, it seemed like half the audience swapped out their red carpet look for something a little different onstage. Below, check out the most noteworthy wardrobe changes of the evening.

Miranda Lambert: She stunned on the red carpet in sleek black and pink Gabriela Cadena, then performed an energetic version of “Little Red Wagon” in an all-leather look we were loving. By the time she took the stage to accept her Best Country Album Grammy, though, she was back in a simple and sexy dress — this time a Noir Sachin + Babi sheath with silver-and-blue sequins.

Beyoncé: Her Proenza Schouler gown might have felt a little same-ol’ for the diva, but the look she chose to sing “Take My Hand, Precious Lord” certainly wasn’t something we expected. She donned an intricately beaded white gown topped with a gauzy sheer cape for a look that had the star channeling her inner angel.

Rihanna: Did you think Rihanna would follow up a major red carpet moment like her volumnious (slight understatement) Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown with something boring during her “Four Five Minutes” performance? She rocked a familiar look — a tuxedo jacket and Chopard diamond choker — but this time slicked her hair back and wore pants.

Lady Gaga: Lady Gaga is no stranger to making major statements at the Grammys, but this time, she kept things surprisingly simple, choosing retro-chic gowns and pretty, Jessica Rabbit-y waves for both her red carpet walk (a silver plunging number with mega emeralds) and her “Cheek to Cheek” duet with Tony Bennett (a navy sequin number with an attached feather boa).

Gwen Stefani: The star gushed over her Atelier Versace jumpsuit on the red carpet, but since she was busy singing “My Heart Is Open” when she wore her second look — a gorgeous strapless red gown with an embellished bustier and gathered hip detail, plus matching red lip and Christian Louboutin heels — we’ll gush over this one for her.

Ariana Grande: She wore super-modern backless white and silver Versace on the red carpet, but her draped amethyst halter dress for her “Just a Little Bit of Your Heart” was pure Old Hollywood glamour.

Kanye West: Kim Kardashian’s stylist-slash-husband was super-sharp on the red carpet, but apparently wanted to be a little comfier for the show — so he changed into the high-fashion version of our Juicy jumpsuit from 2002 and seemed to really enjoy it.

Madonna: When you’ve already been a Givenchy Haute Couture-clad sexy matador on the red carpet (and flashed your butt to boot), it’s hard to follow up that act. But Her Madgesty did her best in this red-and-black number (also Givenchy Haute Couture, and also worn with Wolford tights).
