Nicholas Sparks’s latest adaptation, The Best of Me, is potentially his most tearful and romantic yet. James Marsden – who also starred in The Notebook – takes on leading-man duties as Dawson, a man who returns to his hometown years after splitting from his high school sweetheart (Michelle Monaghan). I sat down with Marsden on the Louisiana set a few months ago, and the handsome actor talked about the importance of chemistry and his relationship with the other men who have led Sparks’s movies.
