While the rest of us are still obsessing over Jennifer Aniston‘s enormous engagement ring, it seems the star is still getting used to it — even two years later. The Cake actress reveals her initial thoughts about the 8-carat diamond ring from fiancé Justin Theroux and more in a recent interview.

When the New York Times reporter gets distracted by her enormous bauble, Aniston addresses the elephant (so to speak) in the room. “It’s a rock, I know,” she says in the interview. “He rocked it up. It took me a while to get used to it.” And although the star loves her ring now, she admits she might not have picked it for herself. “I’m not a diamond girl,” she says. “I’m more Indian jewelry and stuff.”
But “rocks” aside, Aniston shares that she considers Theroux a blessing sent to her by her first love, who died of a brain tumor when they were young. ““He would have been the one. But I was 25, and I was stupid. He must have sent me Justin to make up for it all,” she says.

Along with plans for her future nuptials, the star also shared her thoughts on the recent scrutiny surrounding Renée Zellweger’s appearance and how Hollywood’s men are rarely singled out for their appearance and aging.
“There was a big whistle blown out on her, and it was unnecessary,” she says. “Did she really look that different? Would she walk into a room and you’d say, ‘Who is that?’ That’s Renée, from here on down; you can’t hide those pouty little lips.”
“I really do think you’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t,” she goes on. “You either are too fat — ‘Oh my God, she’s gained weight, getting chubby, mid-40s spread!’ — or ‘She’s so skeletal, get some meat on her bones!’ I’ve been on too-thin lists. I’ve been on what-happened-to-her lists.”
