Kacey Musgraves’s secret-containing hairdo seemed to have deflated a bit during the CMAs broadcast. After proudly hitting the red carpet with a mile-high bouffant, the CMA award winner tamed down her do a substantial amount for the live show.

Musgraves lost a Bump-It (or five), switching to a lower tease and pulling back some of her hair for her performance with Loretta Lynn.

Earlier in the night, the star was super stoked about her mega mane, saying “I’m from Texas. I love big hair — it’s full of secrets.”

She added that her voluminous look is a nod to another decade. “First of all, I’m really, really inspired by the ’60s, the fashion, the cars, the music. And tonight I’m kind of paying homage to what I’m performing.” But
