Karl Lagerfeld’s Cat Choupette Gets a Job With Shu Uemura

Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld’s cat Choupette may be the most spoiled feline in the world (she has two maids who maintain a diary about her life and she eats all her meals on the table with him) but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t know how to get her paws dirty. Immediately following the news that Choupette has a book on the way (128 pages of advice and modeling photos, entitled Choupette: The Private Life of a High-Flying Fashion Cat and due in Sept.), WWD announced that she’ll be getting her own capsule cosmetics collection with Shu Uemura.

Dubbed (what else?) “Shupette” and touted as “the first tie-up between a beauty name and a house pet,” according to the article, the collaboration is the brainchild of Choupette’s dad, who uses Shu Uemura products to color his illustrations. Like the one he created above, for instance.

Details are a little thin at the moment, but WWD has a few behind-the-scenes photos from the upcoming campaign, including a model getting touched up with some major false eyelashes and a shot of Lagerfeld shooting the pampered feline herself. For her part, though, Choupette has remained mum on her social media channels.

What do you think of the cat makeup collection? Would you shop Shupette?
