Peplumania continues! Kate was credited with helping peplum — a detail that accentuates waist and creates the illusion of fuller hips — make a comeback in 2012, and she proved the look is still trending during her latest outing in Australia.
The Duchess of Cambridge wore a flounce hem top and matching box pleated skirt from Alexander McQueen when she visited the Adelaide suburb of Elizabeth on Wednesday. Though it could hardly be considered revealing, the V-neckline was a daring departure for Kate, who usually prefers to stay covered up to her clavicles. In 2012, she wore a McQueen peplum frock (right) that had been customized with sleeves and a boatneck collar. (Kim Kardashian wore the original version a year earlier.)
For the most recent outing, Kate paired her outfit with her signature L.K. Bennett “Sledge” pumps, marking the fourth occasion on the Royal Tour she’s worn heels from the British label that she helped make famous.

The Duchess has also carried the brand’s “Natalie” clutch three times so far on the tour and last week, she prompted a fashion face-off with Mindy Kaling when she wore L.K. Bennett’s poppy-print “Lasa” dress, which, not surprisingly, is now sold out.
For her latest Australian appearance, Kate wore her hair in a half undo, a more simple ponytail style than the elaborate half twist that recently had “Copy Kates” buzzing.
