Kit Harington: ‘My Hair Has Its Own Contract’ on Game of Thrones

We already knew that Kit Harington, who plays brooding leader Jon Snow on Game of Thrones, had some of the best-paid feet in the business as a result of his modeling job with Jimmy Choo. But what we didn’t know is that his hair is equally well-employed, thanks to its starring role on the HBO drama.

“It has its own contract, definitely,” he confessed on Live With Kelly and Michael. “I never thought I’d say that about my own hair … I’m not allowed to cut it, and I didn’t realize this until recently. I wanted to cut it — I’ve had long hair for ages — and and they were like, ‘No, no, no. That won’t be happening.’”

Co-host Kelly Ripa suggested that he cut it and add in a weave, but Harington said that isn’t allowed under the contract. “They don’t like doing that,” he said. “It’s very funny when you get into these things, and people get very obsessed by little things … There’s all of these ridiculous conversations that go back and forth between agents and managers and HBO: ‘Can we have four inches off or can we have an inch off? What can we do with this? How curly should it be? It’s silly.’”

Then Ripa spoke for many women across the country when she said, “I really do like your hair. You should keep it long.” Watch the whole video below, then tell us: Do you agree with Ripa? Or should Harington go for the big cut? Tell us in the comments!
