Lady Gaga‘s avant-garde (and at times bewildering) style is getting some major recognition in The Hollywood Reporter‘s annual Power Stylists issue. And to help celebrate her unique brand of fashion, Gaga’s close friend, Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld, played photographer for the shoot. The best part? The photos were taken in Coco Chanel’s Paris apartment.

Wearing a strapless bubblegum-pink satin gown, black quilted leather jacket and chunky black-and-gold accessories (like her statement piece: a wide, textured gold belt with the label’s name), the pop star joins the man behind her most Gaga-ish looks (remember her red rubber glove moment at the Oscars?) on the cover, her personal stylist Brandon Maxwell. Lagerfeld shot the spread in the midst of Paris Fashion Week.

“Being on Coco’s couch and having champagne in her apartment — it should always be a moment that we remember,” the singer told THR. “So we are not just creating fashion as a look, but an entire experience. It’s our life. It’s the reason I do it every day.”
