Lauren Conrad has always loved fashion (she designs two lines, Paper Crown and LC by Lauren Conrad), so we’re expecting some pretty big things from her wedding dress. The bride-to-be told Martha Stewart Weddings that she’s been thinking about her gown since high school. “Bridal is unique because of the quality of the fabrics and the silhouettes,” she said. “It’s such an important part of someone’s big day, and I always thought that was cool.”
Will she go classic or modern? What would go best with her signature cat eye? How will she wear her hair? So many questions, and they’re only partially answered in her list of 25 gowns she loves, complete with notes on how she’d style them. We’re not shocked she’d ditch the “rocker” black leather gloves with this Vera Wang strapless design, and we’re pretty convinced the girl won’t go short or A-line or tea-length — she could do that any time (and in fact, she does — a lot).
So we carefully went through her list and picked three dresses we think are legitimate contenders for Conrad’s big day. From left …

Oscar de la Renta: The designer has a penchant for all things precious, which is why we think this Oscar De La Renta dress could be perfect. “There’s something so sweet about this one,” she says of the gown paired with a scalloped veil. And yes, we totally peg her as a veil girl. Based on her engagement shoot, Conrad loves anything diaphanous and gauzy. Plus, she praises how the layers on the veil work with the layers on the dress without being too “matchy-matchy.” Amen, LC.
Marchesa: Remember when you thought peplum was dead and then it showed up everywhere at the Oscars? If someone else was going to rock it, it’d be Conrad in this Marchesa sheath dress. She says that the lace makes the waist detail “not overwhelming.” She’s also the voice of reason about the practicality of the peplum: “Peplums are much more flattering than people think because if you have the curves, it shows them off, and if you don’t have them, it gives the illusion.”
Elizabeth Fillmore: Since she now has a simple (and stunning!) solitaire round engagement ring, what better to wear it with than this dramatic Elizabeth Fillmore piece. Described as “eyelet-embroidered high-low wrap ball gown with ostrich feathers,” it’s a high-fashion mouthful. But as Conrad points out, “It’s already styled.” Throw on some delicate shoes (we’d pick these gold Manolos to go with her ring) and prance down the aisle in style.
