Lena Dunham heard your thoughts about her long, banged Scandal wig and apparently took them to heart: She went shorter than ever, debuting a new pixie cut on Late Night With Seth Meyers Wednesday.

After the host complimented her on her very close-cropped new cut, she thanked him and joked that she was premiering it on his show. But she didn’t elaborate on the cause, leaving us to wonder: Is her Girls alter ego Hannah Horvath having a crisis that involves a haircut? Is she going undercover for her Scandal role? Or was she just in the mood for a change (seeing as she’s been bright blonde and green just for fun in the past, we’re guessing it’s the latter).

At any rate, it’s one of the bolder pixies we have seen in Hollywood lately — she really went for it, getting a Mia Farrow-esque look with lots of texture. She loves a retro look so we can’t wait to see how she styles it going forward.
