Joining the ranks of supermodels Kate Upton, Heidi Klum and Chanel Iman, Ashley Graham will now grace the famous pages of Sports Illustrated‘s iconic Swimsuit Issue — and she’s making history.
Coutesy Swimsuits For All
Graham will be featured wearing a sexy, black string bikini in the newest Swimsuits For All (a widely popular swimwear shopping site) ad campaign, called #CurvesinBikinis, which will run in the magazine, out February 9. And it marks the first time Sports Illustrated has ever featured a plus-size model.
“I know my curves are sexy and I want everyone else to know that theirs are too,” Graham said in a statement. “There is no reason to hide and every reason to flaunt. The world is ready for more curves in bikinis. Swimsuits For All helps women feel confident and sexy in swimsuits, and I am so thrilled to be a part of the #CurvesinBikinis campaign!”
Bikini Babes: The Sexiest Star Swimwear!
This isn’t the first time Swimsuits For All has celebrated curvy women’s bodies. Last year, the swimwear shopping destination tapped plus-size models Robyn Lawley, Jada Sezer, Shareefa J and blogger Gabi Gregg for their take on the SI’s three-model 2014 cover, featuring Lily Aldridge, Chrissy Teigen and Nina Agdal.
And with all the hype surrounding the new #CurvesinBikinis campaigns, we hope to see more women embracing their natural bodies in national magazines in the future — and not just in ads.
