We’re 100 percent certain there isn’t a bold print in the world that Michelle Obama can’t pull off. And proving our point? This graphic lime green number she wore arriving in Toyko today. It’s so good, we just need to take a minute to appreciate all the neon glory of her Kenzo A-line number.

The long-sleeved, flared dress features thin white vertical stripes with a chevron black and white graphic pattern running horizontally. She accessorized by accentuating the waist with a black and gold metallic belt and a pair of plain black pumps to match.
Obama is known to pick designer pieces for diplomatic reasons (for instance, wearing Naeem Khan to a state dinner in honor of the Indian prime minister), and her Kenzo dress was no exception; though Humberto Leon and Carol Lim (both American) run the fashion house now, it was founded in 1970 by Japanese-born Kenzo Takada.

According to her Instagram, Obama is in Japan to partner with the country on the White House’s “Let Girls Learn” initiative, which aims to educate girls worldwide. While the First Lady promotes her educational programs, we’ll keep tabs on her always flawless style (hey, sometimes the medium and the message are equally important).
