Sometimes we fall for a show before we even watch it. Such was the case when we got our first glimpse of Fox’s hot new hip-hop drama from creator Lee Daniels, Empire. Can you blame us? We loved Cookie Lyon’s over-the-top fashion before we even saw Taraji P. Henson bring her to life on the screen or knew that the show would quickly become the highest rated new series on television.
But the matriarch of the Lyon clan isn’t the only one who had us – along with 15 million other viewers – tuning in week after week. We’d happily raid every character’s closet given the chance, including Naomi Campbell, whose most memorable onscreen outfits this season include a a fierce Marc Bouwer Couture dress. Luckily, her look isn’t so far from our grasp: the model has decided to auction off the standout piece on Gilt. But if you’re gasping at the $12,000 price tag, perhaps you’ll take comfort in knowing that that the proceeds will go to Naomi’s charity, Fashion For Relief – and that you’ll own a piece of television history.
If you’re not willing to shell out that kind of dough, it doesn’t hurt to gather some inspiration from what just might be the most stylish show since Gossip Girl. Even if you haven’t been an avid Empire watcher, the photos alone could convince you to start binge-watching this weekend.
