If you’ve listened to Beyoncé‘s “Flawless” on repeat (while singing “I look so good tonight” to yourself in the mirror), you’re hardly alone. But now blogger Gabi Fresh has taken that hairbrush singalong session to the next level, filming her own take on the Beyoncé video with a little help from fellow plus size bloggers and models Nadia Aboulhosn and Tess Munster.
Says self-proclaimed Beyoncé superfan Gabi in a post titled “#everyBODYisflawless,” she was inspired to make the video after hearing Beyoncé tell haters to “bow down,” and realizing she was often tempted to tell people the same thing. “As a fat woman of color, I’m often treated differently than my thin, white peers,” she says. “I get hate mail and trolling comments from people who call me disgusting and say I shouldn’t be allowed in public. Like Bey, I usually just brush these people off, and I never give them power by addressing them here or anywhere else. But it gets tiring.”

She enlisted Munster and Aboulhosn to film the video (and to kick it off some with clips that illustrate what they go through on a regular basis) because, she says, “I wanted to show that 1) we are not competing to be the Top Dog in our niche — we are supportive of each other and are all working toward the same goal: body positivity and inclusivity. And 2) you don’t have to be a certain size to claim your flawlessness. Fat is not a flaw.”
