Robert Pattinson has done the buzz cut and the half-shave, but his latest hair look is something the star hasn’t tried before. Pattinson jumped on the undercut bandwagon, and his take on the hair trend has a twist.

The actor debuted his new do at the GO GO Gala in Beverly Hills Thursday. From the front, its all floppy, quintessential Pattinson curls (kind of similar to his early Twilight days). But the star has shaved the back half of his head completely bald except for a single patch right in the center. See the photo above.

We’re not sure why the 28-year-old actor left the lone hair strip, but it’s definitely a standout style. Now, all we want to know is what his new girlfriend, British singer-songwriter FKA twigs, thinks of it. (Maybe she encouraged the cut!)

An insider told PEOPLE that the couple is “is ridiculously cute,” together, adding, “They’re both real, real, relaxed with each other.”
