Rosario Dawson’s Havana Nights-Themed Photo Shoot Will Make You Want to Book a Tropical Vacation, Stat

Let’s celebrate that it’s Friday (and spring finally feels within reach) with a peek at Rosario Dawson‘s gorgeous Cuban-inspired photo shoot for O, The Oprah Magazine‘s April issue. But fair warning: the wildly colorful prints, strappy gladiator sandals, panama hat and feathery ball skirt (an obvious vacation must-have) will have you craving a spring break getaway.

“I love the whole Havana Nights theme of the shoot,” says the actress, who relied on some old Spanish music from her iPod to get herself into the shoot’s Cuban vibe. “It was a mix from Mathieu Schreyer — he’s a DJ and my ex-boyfriend, and he’s got good taste,” she adds.

It seems she also drew from her Afro-Cuban, Puerto Rican, Irish and Native American descent saying, “My grandmother had a really great way with mixing patterns and colors,” says Dawson. “It all looked so good with her beautiful white hair and dark skin.”

Dawson is no slouch in the style department either — check out her feathery Christian Siriano number. “This skirt is like a cloud of shredded coconut,” she says. “It’s very luxurious and dramatic at the same time.”

You can see every outfit from the spread, which features other designers such as A.L.C., Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet and (the Dominican-born) Oscar de la Renta, when it hits newsstands on March 17.
