While the world seems to be obsessed with body size at the moment, one “plus size” blogger is calling out a word she’s tired of hearing: brave. After rocking a one-piece sans coverup at the beach, Jessica Kane, the woman behind Life and Style of Jessica, took to social media to vent about hearing the backwards-compliment.
“THIS WAS NOT BRAVE,” she captioned an Instagram pic of herself, posing in the sand. “I’ve been told how brave I am for not having a coverup, but going without a wrap would only take bravery if I cared what others thought of me, but I don’t.”
She then went on to list people who she thinks are truly brave: “A family battling tragic illness, a mother trying to beat addiction, a person trying to break free of domestic violence, reaching out for help when you have already planned your suicide and feel like you can’t breath one more day.”
