Two television stars who are equally well-known for their luxurious wavy manes as their jobs: Tori Spelling and Maria Menounos. Two television stars who are now rocking much shorter but equally sassy haircuts: Tori Spelling and Maria Menounos. Sorry we didn’t tell you to sit down, but now that you’ve processed this information, let’s proceed.
First up: Spelling, who chopped off her platinum-blonde chest-length extensions (or part-time shoulder-length cut) for a platinum-blonde chin-length bob. Even more noteworthy: Spelling did it herself, according to this Instagram caption. “Here’s my new hair cut.I chopped it all off myself last nite at midnite. #FutureHairStylist #ShortHairDontCare #MultitaskingMama” Spelling wrote along with a photograph of her new cut. It takes a brave woman to take scissors to her own do, but no one ever called Spelling a chicken — and frankly, it looks pretty good to us.

Menounos also went significantly shorter (though she did hers with the aid of a salon — and she confessed to being much more scissors-shy than Spelling was). “What are we thinking about the new shorter do? Needed to cut the dead ends! @ninezeroone @nikkilee901 @riawnacapri thnx for ur patience-I was so scared to do it!” she wrote as the caption to an Instagram debuting her shorter cut. She then took the cut for a spin in NYC, and as much as we loved her always on-point long waves, braids and updos, we’ve gotta say, her new cut feels super fresh.
