It’s not uncommon to hear that a bride looks like an angel on her wedding day, but it’s not often meant as literally as it was when Lindsay Ellingson wed longtime love Sean Clayton this summer. The Victoria’s Secret model (who has donned the famous wings in the line’s fashion show) got to put her practice walking the runway to good use when she walked down the aisle in Bluffton, South Carolina, July 12 — and they’ve shared the photos with Brides. With unlimited bridal gown options, Ellingson chose a romantic custom Sophie Theallet dress for her big day, with a romantic draped and asymmetrical back and bow details and a deep-V neckline. “It’s so special to wear a gown no one else will have,” Ellingson said of her wedding-day look. “Sophie knows how to make a woman feel beautiful.” She swept her hair into a shiny low bun and kept her makeup fresh and light (hello, “Wedding Plans” pinterest board).

Ellison also waxed rhapsodic about Clayton, whom she met at an album launch party in N.Y.C. “I turned around and saw tall, dark, and handsome,” she says, calling it “fate” when they ran into each other the next day and adding, “Sean is everything I ever looked for. I never thought I’d be so lucky.”

And it was a sentiment she felt strongly as she walked to meet her groom in front of about 85 guests. “Sean and I locked eyes as I walked down the aisle. It felt like we were the only ones there,” she says. But it’s fun to share the moment with them now.
