Dove’s beauty campaigns are always buzzworthy. They’re aimed to bolster body confidence and empowerment — like the Beauty Sketches spot from last year — and the brand’s latest video is bound to spark some conversation.
Psychologist and body image expert Dr. Ann Kearney-Cooke enlisted a group of diverse women — dealing with aging, dating, body-after baby struggles and other confidence issues — to test out Dove’s new RB-X beauty patch, “developed to enhance the way women perceive their own beauty.” Each woman in the study wore the patch for two weeks, documenting how their moods changed.
We don’t want to give too much away (you need to watch the video above), but the patch totally worked as it was intended to. Watch the women’s reactions, and see for yourself.
What do you think of Dove’s real beauty message? Did you know the “RB-X” beauty patches were a placebo? Were you surprised by the results? Share your thoughts below.
