We Just Might Have Found Kate Middleton’s Signature Color

When Kate Middleton stepped out in Lela Rose‘s white design at a reception hosted by the Governor General Peter Cosgrove, she wore a color that we long ago established she shines in. But it was the belted coat she appeared in earlier in the day that really took our breath away. The emerald-green hue was among the most striking of the rainbow of designs we’ve seen her wearing throughout her time in Australia, and we were positively green with envy.

The chicness of the looks come as no surprise, though – as big fans of Kate Middleton’s general style, we knew that her tour of Australia and New Zealand with William and George was going to be packed with sophisticated ensembles. She kicked it off in a bold red Catherine Walker coat dress (similar to a number picked by Diana for a royal visit in 1984), and it has been smooth sailing from there.

As for what’s next to emerge from her suitcase, we aren’t going in totally blind. The style news on the street is that Kate commissioned a look from British label Ralph & Russo and gave it “specific instructions for a gown.” We smell glamour!
