Janelle Monáe, hit recording artist, producer and CoverGirl spokeswoman: My favorite item right now is definitely my cross purse from Chanel, from Karl Lagerfeld’s Cruise Line Collection. I love it because it’s small and I don’t get the opportunity to clutter up my purse. So I keep my ID in there, I keep my “Hot 305″ lipstick, my mascara in there, and just small things … like some dollars so that I can tip valets. It’s black and white — which is my signature, and it just straps across my chest, and I just love it!
And speaking of mascara, I love what CoverGirl is doing with their mascaras. For every purchase of the specially marked #GirlsCan Mascaras, they will donate $1 for each sold to selected charitable organizations that help women break barriers. I believe that all women have superpowers within them, and it’s so important for me to work with a brand that believes in empowering women.
