Rosa Heyman, Excutive Assistant: Buying shoes online makes me nervous –- I much prefer to try them on in the store, not only to assess their comfort level, but also to make sure they look right. You know how certain pairs of shoes can inexplicably look weird on your feet, even if they’re the right size? Like you have clown feet or super-long toes? One of life’s mysterious and annoying wonders. Anyways. These Zara sandals caught my eye because I’ve been on the hunt for a daytime summer shoe that I can wear to work and on the weekends; sandals that look much more chic than the average beach variety.
Living in New York City, I do a lot (a lot) of walking and so I like to wear a bit of a heel to keep my bare feet elevated off the sidewalk (I realize this makes no logical sense, but mentally, it seems more sanitary). And I’ve been loving the block heel look, especially since it is an incredibly easy style to walk in. The feminine ankle strap appealed to me as well. Fingers crossed, I will soon have an actual real-life tan, but if not, then I figured at least the white patent leather could help.

Jackie Fields, Writer/Reporter: My Nixon watch may just be more reliable and more stylish than any guy I’ve ever dated in N.Y.C. I suppose that’s not saying much, but seriously, this gorgeous piece of sophisticated bling has been a fixture on my wrist every single day for the last two years. But after being attached, literally, for so long, I recently felt it was time to lighten and brighten up for summer. Of course, I went right back to the source of my happiness, Nixon, for my newest acquisition, the Small Time Teller (shown here in lime, but I got the lively red pepper). There is nothing childish about this vivid timepiece, thanks so the sleek design. I promptly debuted it on Memorial Day (along with my new short-sleeve chambray top and skinny white jeans from the J.Crew outlet). What’s best? It’s curbing my need for a bright mani, which means less time in the nail salon and more time kicking back at the Boat Basin.

Alex Apatoff, Style News Editor: I’ve seen enough people raving on Facebook about Stitch Fix that my curiosity finally got the better of me and I gave it a go. The premise is that you share your sizes and style preferences with a “stylist,” who fills a box with items picked just for you. You keep (and pay for) what you want and return the rest. I was skeptical while ordering (those monthly subscription sites never work out for me), skeptical while unpacking the box (nothing I would have picked for myself) and sold once I tried them on.
Somehow the stylist pretty much “got me” on the first try (four total hits and one miss, though some things were a little pricier than expected). For budget reasons, I only kept this printed Collective Concepts top (modeled here with the Anine Bing blazer I bought last week and can’t decide if I like, hence the tags. Should I keep it?) — and next month the stylist will take my notes from this delivery and apply to them to the next one so the items are even more my style. I’m a convert!
Oh, and because I know you’re dying to know where I got that adorable iPhone case, it’s by Minnie & Emma (if it looks familiar, Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Garner are fans). The polka-dot/monogram combo with a hot pink background was irresistible to me, and I can always find it in my purse — plus it improves my selfies by 130% (science).
