Loni Venti, Style and Beauty Editor: Once August rolls around, I’m always on the “style fence” between summer fun and fall fierceness. I find this predicament particularly stressful when it comes to the nail polish department (I know, my life is really hard). Before lacquering up, I agonize over what shade will be be beachy and bright enough to pair with airy sun dresses — yet still cool and complementary to the fall clothing that I’ve started to work into my wardrobe (leopard and black leather are the trends I’m super stoked about). My brand-spankin’-new solution? Revlon ColorStay Gel Envy nail color in “Wild Card.” This attention-getting, electric blue hue is playfully bright enough to pair with a bikini and Birkenstocks, yet packs enough attitude to road test my newest fall wardrobe updates. Also exciting: the gel-like finish stays super shiny and takes way longer to chip then regular polish.

Lawrence Zarian, Lifestyle Expert and Author: For summer 2014, it was all about beautiful hues of blue! Instead of buying an entire wardrobe of blue, I just updated up my “look” with an amazing pair of aviator frames from Sama eyewear, my favorite sunglasses brand. Aviators look good on all face shapes and sizes and choosing blue makes it fresh and modern. I’m obsessed with my new Sama frames, especially because they work well for men or women!

Alex Apatoff, Style News Editor: I’ve been traveling so much that I finally reached my baggage breaking point. Juggling a laptop case, purse and suitcase was becoming a real pain (literally and figuratively). So when my sister, who travels all the time for work, saw my setup, she laughed at me and then sent me the link to her Lo & Sons “OG” bag. Now I can’t leave the house without it. It holds virtually everything I could ever think to leave the house with (seriously, watch this video if you don’t believe me). It’s incredibly well-designed — nothing gets lost, despite the size, thanks to all the thoughtful pockets and compartments. It slides securely over the handle of a wheeled suitcase. And it’s super-durable, so it won’t get destroyed on its journey from the gym to work to the airport. It’s made traveling nearly pleasant. When was the last time you heard anyone say that?

Victoria's Secret BraCourtesy Victoria’s Secret

Brittany Talarico, Associate Style Editor: Confession: When I was in in high school I used to wear a water bra — and I was obsessed with it. But now that I’m a more developed 27-year-old woman, my taste in bras has completely changed. I like very little padding and very comfy materials, but don’t want to look like I’m wearing old lady undergarments. Enter the Victoria’s Secret limited edition unlined demi bra. It’s still a sexy silhouette (plus, has that sheer lace material), but the stretchy demi cups are super comfortable, and I love that it doesn’t feel like I’m wearing a bulky bra. And it looks really cute under a tissue tee with some boyfriend jeans or cutoffs on a lazy weekend afternoon. So if you plan to celebrate National Underwear today by buying some new intimates, check this one out or the rest of the brand’s new Simple Sexy collection.

By Kilian pendantCourtesy Jackie Fields

Jackie Fields, Writer/Reporter: There are two things I love in this world more than anything else: perfume and jewelry. So when I discovered niche brand By Killian was launching scented necklaces, I squealed like it was Christmas morning (but it was July, people), then I marched down to their NYC store to discover the fragrant designs. Forget your childhood memories of perfumed bling (if you’re like me, you may have a collection of stinky, oversize rings tucked away at home). These pieces, and the roughly 30 scents that you have the options to infuse them with, are the epitome of luxe.

I chose the rhodium-plated locket necklace because it blended well with the chains I never remove, then added the “Love Don’t Be Shy” scented ceramic disc, because I couldn’t resist the combination of jasmine, iris and vanilla. The disc is supposed to remain fragrant for a year, but if I want to switch things up, I can replace the scented ceramic back at the boutique. At first I was hesitant about the $245 price tag, but then I remembered I’ve paid a lot more for baubles that are solely single-purpose. So far, this scented pendant has paid for itself in compliments — both on its gorgeous design, and unexpected aroma.
