You’ll ‘Dye’ When You See What Some Women Are Doing to Their Armpits

Some people just want to add a little flair to their hair. Their armpit hair. That’s right, colorful pits are the latest beauty trend taking over social media.

The bold new look is being celebrated all over the Internet, as women share the results of their DIY dye jobs on Tumblr and Instagram using the hashtag #dyedpits.

The unofficial creator of the movement is thought to be hair stylist Roxie Hunt, who works at Seattle salon Vain. In an October blog post about how to dye armpit hair, that was shared 33,000 times, she wrote, “It’s no secret that some of us choose not to shave or wax our pits.”

She goes on to share how she persuaded a coworker to be a guinea pig and dyed her blond armpit hair a turquoise blue. “I want to celebrate pit hair,” Hunt shared.

Which celebrity risk-takers will be the first to brave this trend? Nicole Richie? Rihanna, perhaps? Only time will tell. And if you’re eager to jump on the dyed pit bandwagon, it’s probably best to let it grow, before you let it glow.
