50 Cent is in trouble.
TMZ is reporting that the rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, has been charged with domestic violence for allegedly kicking his ex girlfriend and baby mama at her condo in Toluca Lake, Calif.
The June 23 incident allegedly occurred after the woman, who remains unidentified, locked herself in a bedroom following an altercation with the rapper. He later kicked down the door and kicked her.
Inside the home, 50 Cent also did some damage, breaking chandeliers, furniture and a TV, among other things, resulting in some $7,100 in damage. According to officials, the “In Da Club” hit maker left the property before LAPD arrived.
The 37-year-old faces a total of five charges: one count of misdemeanor domestic violence and four counts of misdemeanor vandalism. The 14-time Grammy nominee could face up to five years in jail and $46,000 in fines, TMZ notes.
50 Cent, who recently completed work on his fifth studio album Street King Immortal, is due for an arraignment in court on July 22.
The Queens, New York native was last arrested in 2006 for driving an unregistered Lamborghini in Times Square. His legal history includes three counts of assault and battery related to a 2004 incident when 50 Cent jumped into a crowd, a 2003 arrest for possessing guns inside a parked car and a 1994 arrest (and sentence) for selling drugs to an undercover officer.
A rep for 50 Cent did not return Celebuzz’s request for comment.
