When it comes John Travolta messing up her name at this year’s Oscars, Idina Menzel has definitely let that flub go.
Speaking with Billboard, the Broadway star says the days of Adele Dazeem, the moniker Travolta used in introducing the actress onstage at the Academy Awards, is far behind her. (Which is kind of too bad because it was possibly spawned one of the greatest celebrity memes of all-time.)
“That threw me for a minute, but then I just got back on track and reminded myself of where I was,” Menzel tells the music publication. “He was really gracious and sent this gorgeous email, and we’re buddies and it’s all cool.”
Menzel adds that Travolta also sent her flowers to apologize for the televised error.
“Please. I mean, I’ve only benefited from it,” she says.
And Travolta has turned away and slammed the door on the whole mishap as well. After the whole world started poking fun at the name fail, the actor issued a formal apology to Menzel and even slipped a Frozen reference into his statement.
“”I’ve been beating myself up all day,” the actor said in a statement via his publicist. “Then I thought … what would Idina Menzel say, She’d say, Let it go, let it go!”
