Amanda Bynes took to Twitter Friday morning and stunned the world when she accused her father Rick Bynes of sexually abusing her.
The actress alleged that her dad “fondled” himself in front of her and even asked her to have sex with him–a series of accusations that follow closely on the heels of a string of bizarre behavior the 28-year-old actress has been exhibiting lately.
Amanda’s mom Lynn Bynes is now speaking out about the alarming allegations.
“I am heartbroken today for my husband of 47 years,” Lynn’s attorney Tamar Arminak tells E! News in a statement on her behalf. “Rick has been the best father and husband a family can ask for. He has never abused Amanda or our other children physically or sexually.”
The statement continues, “These accusations are absolutely horrible and could not be further from the truth! These allegations stem from Amanda’s mental state at the moment. They have no basis in reality. It saddens me beyond belief that my husband’s character could be slandered in such a way.”
UPDATE: Amanda Bynes negated her previous allegations about her father, taking to Twitter to reveal what she believes is “the truth:”

Bynes moved out of her parents home and cut off contact with them in September after their temporary conservatorship over her ended. Since then, Bynes has been arrested for a DUI, kicked out of fashion school and caught shoplifting.
The troubled star also says she is currently engaged and “in love” with a 19-year-old man from Costa Mesa, Calif., even wearing a wedding ring around New York. Whether or not this person or the engagement is real has yet to be determined.
