Amanda Bynes’ Parents Talk: “Know Nothing” About Her Arrest or Current Whereabouts

Amanda Bynes Goes For a Christmas Walk With Her Parents And Dogs

Just 20 days after the conservatorship over their daughter ended, Amanda Bynes‘ parents are completely in the dark when it comes to her current situation, including her DUI arrest on Sunday.

Rick Bynes told reporters that both he and his wife Lynn Organ only found out about her arrest through the press and haven’t heard from Amanda about it at all.

“Nobody from the cops called us,” he said.  “I know nothing, and the police don’t seem to know much, so I don’t know.”

Bynes’ parents held temporary conservatorship over their daughter through Sept. 10 at which point Amanda–who was arrested for driving under the influence of Adderall–decided to take off on her own, speaking very little to her family.

“Once again, she is 28.  She does what she wants,” her father explained.

Rick also said she’s been living in Irvine and going to school at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising since June, telling reporters, “She was in Irvine and the thing [temporary conservatorship] ended, and we don’t know.  So you know what we know.”

As for her current whereabouts following the arrest?  If her father had to guess, he’d say New York.

“I didn’t hear it,” he clarified. “But I know she likes New York so that is what I am thinking.”

Amanda is currently on three-years probation stemming from her 2012 DUI and is expected to appear back in court on Oct. 23.
