Unless you’re really a true Britney Spears fan, you probably don’t understand how the pop princess and superstar actress Zoe Saldana‘s roads have ever crossed.
You also wouldn’t understand that little pun I just used… In which case I’ll just tell you upfront: They met making Crossroads (get it now?!).
Yes, before Zoe Saldana hit it big in the industry, Britney was the first “major” celebrity she ever worked with in their 2002 rom-com together Crossroads (which also starred Taryn Manning and Justin Long, by the way). And it looks like the two still mean a lot to each other!
During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live last week, Saldana was quick to defend BritBrit when a viewer asked if she’d heard the pop star’s leaked “Alien” track, which was released without auto-tune.
“Well that’s mean,” Zoe said, backing up her former co-star. “Because I’m pretty sure that 80 percent of our musical artists would be mortified if they were caught singing without their own auto-tune.”

She continued, “I have a huge amount of respect for Britney Spears. She was the one, big big celeb that I met when I started to work in Hollywood who literally was humble. I do believe that people and children gravitate to good energy, and she’s definitely an abundance of that!”

Brit also appreciated Zoe’s kind words, giving her a big shout on Monday over Twitter alongside a GIF of the two during a scene in Crossroads.
