Community fans, it’s time to celebrate.
Sony Pictures TV announced on Monday that the beloved show will be back for a sixth season this fall — on Yahoo.
The announcement comes some three months after NBC cancelled the show; #sixseasonsandamovie was born, along with plenty of chatter along the way.
“I am very pleased that Community will be returning for its predestined sixth season on Yahoo,” show creator Dan Harmon said in a statement. [via Variety]
“I look forward to bringing our beloved NBC sitcom to a larger audience by moving it online. I vow to dominate our new competition. Rest easy, Big Bang Theory. Look out, Bang Bus!”
Yahoo’s move, which promises 13 new episodes of Community on Yahoo Screen (no word about the movie part), echoes the footsteps of fellow media giants AOL and Hulu in the original programming department.
Looks like Fall TV 2014 will be a stellar season after all.
