Rosie O’Donnell is returning to The Fosters!
“I’m doing three episodes in the second half of this season,” O’Donnell told TVGuide.com after the season premiere of The View. “ABC has been very nice in allowing me the time to go do that. When I took this job, I made sure I could still do The Fosters because I like being recognized by 12-year-olds at the mall. They call me [my character’s name] Rita, but still I don’t mind.”

O’Donnell plays the strict but compassionate social worker and house mom at Girls United who became a mentor to Callie (Maia Mitchell) when she was living there. O’Donnell appeared in five episodes in Season 1 and reprised her role for two more earlier this season, guiding Callie as she found her birth father Robert (Kerr Smith). ABC Family declined to comment.
