Fantasia Barrino’s foreclosed North Carolina mansion is off her hands and will soon be out of the bank’s hands now that a buyer has been willing to take over the property.
After hitting the foreclosure market for nearly $850K in May (the American Idol winner paid $1.3 million in 2007), and months of near hits, the sale is pending for nearly $750,000, Celebuzz has learned.
Barrino bought the custom built 5-bedroom, 6-bath lakefront home in Charlotte during the height of her career when she appeared on Broadway in the hit musical The Color Purple and got her own reality show Fantasia for Real, where the home took center stage. But in 2009, she almost lost the home and put it on the market to no avail in early 2012.
And since she turned the 6,500 square foot abode over to the bank the dilapidated digs definitely need some TLC despite cool features like a luxe front entry with dual curved staircases, 2 master suites, media room, private pond, pool, hot tub, balcony, and grand circular driveway.
Her longstanding troubles with the manse will soon be someone else’s given that the kitchen lacks all appliances, the carpet has been ripped in the main living areas, there are major cracks along the exterior back patio, and there’s some lovely wood trim rot, according to property records.
But on the plus side, new hardwoods have been added and the view from the second floor is spectacular.
