There’s something about the way Jay-Z says “Twerk, Miley, Miley, Twerk” that makes me an instant fan of Magna Carta Holy Grail, less than 24 hours after its massive Samsung release.
The Miley Cyrus name drop happens around the 1:40 mark on “somewhereinamerica,” one of 14 new tracks from Hova.
Whether it’s an artistic response to Cyrus’ famous Jay-Z name drop on “Party in the USA” (a song that’s oh-so-appropriate for today) or a genuine nod to the young superstar’s famous twerking skills, the song is a gentle reminder that when someone like Jay-Z includes your name in a song, it’s a pretty big deal.
Other references in “somewhereinamerica” include Frank Sinatra’s “I Did It My Way,” Air Jordan packs, Instagram and the Internet. Listen below (some lyrics are NSFW).
