After three long years together, Jason Derulo and Jordin Sparks finally decided to call it quits last week.
Sparks opened up on Twitter to share a quote about how she still feels lucky to have been in the relationship.
However, Derulo is getting a little more real about everything, admitting it’s not all hunky dory between the two.
The 25-year-old singer–who originally said things were “cool” between the two–stopped by On Air With Ryan Seacrest, and when asked whether or not he and Sparks were in a good place yet, he answered honestly.
“I wouldn’t say good terms,” he admitted. “I’ll be lying if I said that, but it’s not a bad situation. There’s no bad blood. We didn’t end off on a weird way or a negative way. [But] it’s not like we’re hitting each other up, like, ‘Hey, what are you doing today?’”
Meanwhile, Ms. Sparks had her own opportunity to speak on the situation while hanging out on the Today show this morning with Kathie Lee and Hoda.
The hosts asked how she’s doing after the split from her longtime boyfriend, to which she responded, “I’m good, actually. The funny thing is I read this quote ‘When something unexpected happens in your life or you think something bad happens, just say, ‘PLOT TWIST!’ And move on.’”
Of course Kathie Lee and Hoda couldn’t help but high-five her for that one!
