Jesse McCartney may have recently released a new single “Back Together,” but that doesn’t mean he’s forgotten about his other passion: acting.
In fact, he’s got a preference when it comes to his multilayered career.
“I get bored easily so I like to jump from place to place,” says McCartney, who recently stopped by Celebuzz’s Hollywood studio for a chat.
“As much as I love music I don’t think I could give up acting for music, solely. I grew up on the stage where live performances were acting and singing. I feel like, as long as people allow me to do both, I’m going to try my best to do both.”
The former All My Children star hasn’t released a new album in some five years. His last studio release, the R&B heavy Departure, spawned a Recharged edition and three top 40 hits, including “Body Language.”
According to the 26-year-old, fans can look forward to a new EP some time in October. And yes, an actual album will also arrive in early 2014.
“I definitely wanted to step outside my comfort zone and outside the box a little bit,” McCartney says of his new material. “You have to do that when you go away for a few years.”
