Okay, let’s all hope Austin Mahone is only literally following in Justin Bieber‘s footsteps. The two pop stars have been bonding over sports and sushi in Miami, where they are supposedly recording a track together. Last night, Justin took Austin out to dinner for his 18th birthday, causing my inner mom to wonder if the Biebs is going to be a positive influence on his American successor.
The young men have similar backgrounds as Mahone, whose father passed away when he was just a year-and-a-half old, was also raised by his single mom Michelle in San Antonio, Texas. Mahone was also “discovered” on the Internet and rather than competing with each other for fans, the singers have joined forces and are recording together at Miami’s Hit Factory studio.
Michelle Mahone: Please keep an eye on this friendship. Justin Bieber was arrested twice in one week, and his legal troubles are not behind him. Also, look at your son. He looks like Bieber 2.0!
